Why buying an off the plan apartment on the Gold Coast makes sense for downsizers

Developers are increasingly focusing on A-grade sites, ideally situated as close to the beach as possible. Even those bringing much-needed density to the Gold Coast are reserving a significant portion of apartments toward the top end of the building for larger units.

In this week's podcast I catch up with Stonnington Mayor Cr Steve Stefanopoulos to discuss the changes afoot along this retail high street and surrounds, which follows on from Urban.com.au's piece on 'The Changing Face of Chapel Street'.

Cr Stefanopoulos outlines the $1 billion worth of public and private investment underway and soon to begin within the Chapel Street Precinct, and the importance of Council working closely with the development industry to achieve good outcomes for the community.

Council projects include the recently completed Greville Street streetscape improvement (with further works to come), substantial upgrade of Prahran Town hall and Library, the 10,000 sqm Cato Square project, and the upgrade of Princes Gardens amongst others.

Cr Stefanopoulos also highlights projects such as the Jam Factory redevelopment which will feature commercial office space supported by retail offerings, and the Aloft Hotel as really adding to the Precinct's diversity.

A summary of projects within the City of Stonnington is illustrated in Urban.com.au's development map below;
