Planning for Brisbane City QLD 4000

As the state capital and the centre of South-East Queensland, the Brisbane CBD benefits from a wide-ranging infrastructure pipeline that is being financed and driven by both the Queensland State Government and the Brisbane City Council.

Chief among current transport infrastructure projects is the Cross River Rail initiative of the Queensland Government. 

It is a 10km rail line linking Button Park to Bowen Hills via Woolloongabba, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane CBD.  6 kilometres of the new line will be in a tunnel.

A brand new city station will be created at Albert Street as well as a new station at Woolloongabba giving the famed stadium direct rail access for the first time as well as enhancing the area’s connectivity in time for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. 

Ab example of a Brisbane City Council transport initiative is the Brisbane Metro.  A bus-rapid transit-focused system that will see new battery-electric vehicles connect the Brisbane CBD with its adjacent suburbs.

Another Olympics-focused initiative that central Brisbane will benefit from is the Logan and Gold Coast Rail upgrade that will add and straighten new track in Brisbane’s south-east thus improving journey times from central and suburban Brisbane to the Gold Coast.  This project will leverage the investment made in the  Cross River Rail project.

How to buy new Real Estate in Brisbane City

Buying off the plan property - apartments or townhouses - in Brisbane is a highly individualised process, however there are some key milestones that we can outline.  

Interested buyers will often need to first pay a refundable fee (generally $1000) to reserve a specific unit and again, generally speaking, that reservation will be active until such time as a contract for purchase is signed. 

• If the buyer elects not to proceed, the reservation fee will be refunded. 
• If the buyer elects to proceed with the purchase, broadly speaking, a contract will need to be signed and a 10% deposit (minus the reservation fee already paid) will need to be paid.

Contract signing and taking all the deposits is a key milestone for the developer as, broadly speaking, they will use them as collateral to secure financing for the construction of the new property. 

When construction of the building has been completed, developers will generally contact you and set up a time to complete the settlement of the transaction.

Settlement is the process of exchanging any deeds and it is when you need to have your finances in order so your bank or other financial provider can then pay the developer for your new home.
