A record-breaking sale in Queenstown has seen the two top floors of Lakeview Te Taumata’s Roto Collection sell for over $33 million.

In a major milestone since releasing the Roto Collection, the transaction sees the penthouse on level 12 alongside complementary sub-penthouse apartments on level 11, all purchased by one buyer.

Exclusive agents New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty say this unique purchase heralds a strong sign of demand generated by Lakeview Te Taumata.

“In a region where price tags for some of the most opulent luxury homes reach the $20 - $25 million mark, this sale sets a new benchmark for the apartment market in Queenstown,” says Myles Green, Projects and Development Manager.

“While buyers within this price range have traditionally gone for residences set within lifestyle acreage, there is a clear demand for the unmatched potential of amenity and location that Lakeview Te Taumata offers.”

Selling agent Dave Fea says the purchaser, who resides between North America and Queenstown, had been waiting for an opportunity like this for some time.

“Of particular appeal was the exceptional quality of architecture, the central location and world-class views the project provides, along with the vast array of amenities on hand," Fea said.

By securing both the penthouse and the floor below the purchaser has obtained an incredible expansive sanctuary in the heart of Queenstown.

The pinnacle of luxury, the penthouse alone offers panoramic mountain, city and lake views, with 475 square metres of living space including a generous 37 square metre balcony. The five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms are complemented by a private wine cellar, gym/wellness centre and the option of a sauna.

Buyer demand has been strong for the world-class Lakeview Te Taumata development, with almost $100 million in sales in the first stage of the $2+ billion master-planned precinct set to transform the cityscape of Queenstown.

Lakeview Te Taumata is being undertaken in a joint venture between ASX-listed Centuria Capital and Melbourne-based 94 Feet, to be delivered in multiple stages over the next decade.

When completed, it will comprise an extensive range of luxurious residences, four hotels, including a premier six-star offering and a lifestyle and wellness hotel, as well as ground-floor retail, restaurants, bars, an art gallery, a public plaza and a hot-pools attraction.

Construction for the Roto Collection is set to start in late 2024.
