Stones Corner might not have even been officially recognised as a suburb until 2017, but the inner-Brisbane pocket is expected to do even more than ride on the coat tails of the infrastructure boom in Woollangabba.

The small 60-hectare suburb with a population of around 2,500 has been a popular suburb in recent years, particularly since the announcement of the 2032 Brisbane Summer Olympics. Developers have managed to secure land in Stones Corner for a fraction of the price of larger sites in Woollangabba, which is helping them get to the construction phase of projects faster.

While the billions of dollars worth of infrastructure earmarked for Woollogabba will inherently benefit suburbs surrounding it, as well as of course the whole of Brisbane, Stones Corner has a number of its own infrastructure projects which will take the suburb to another level of desirability.

The Buranda Village Shopping Centre, albeit technically in Woollangabba but very much on the fringe of Stones Corner, was approved for a redevelopment to turn it into a mixed-use precinct with new build-to-rent and commercial towers, as well as a hotel and a number of bars and restaurants.

Definitely in Stones Corner is Stones Corner Village, which will to be redeveloped to incorporate a mix of residential and commercial uses. Two adjoining towers will be built above 3,000 sqm of retail, further enhancing Stones Corners' lifestyle appeal.

Set to take advantage of the Stones Corner boom is longtime Brisbane developer Gardner Vaughan Group, who are developing Stonebrook, a nine-level, owner-occupier focused tower on the fringe of Hanlon Park, crowned Australia's best park in 2023.

The builder developer, who is focusing on two, three and four-bedroom apartments in the building, is on track for a late 2024 completion of the development which could well sit in one of Stones Corners' best areas.

Future residents will have direct access to Hanlon Park, an ideal spot for a morning or evening walk or even cycle. Hanlon Park boasts a revamped children's playground, walking and riding tracks, and a natural waterway.

Stones Corner Village, currently operating until its redevelopment, is a four-minute walk from the front door of Stonebrook, which coffee pit stops Lady Marmalade, Shady Palms, and Clove n Honey are even closer.

Come evening, dining and entertainment options abound, with highlights such as Crafty Fox Alehouse & Kitchen or 5 Boroughs.

For families, Stonebrook is within one kilometre of primary and secondary educational institutions such as Buranda State School, St James Primary School in Coorparoo, Greenslopes State School, Narbethong State Special School, and Villanova College. The closest University of Queensland campus is two kilometres away.

Stones Corner is the perfect place for those seeking proximity to Brisbane CBD while enjoying the tranquillity of suburban living.
